Benjamin Franklin played a key role in several of the most important events of the Revolutionary War. He was one of the architects of the Declaration of Independence. He was also an influence in the framing of the Constitution of the United States.
Benjamin Franklin was one of the first members who signed the Declaration of Independence. On June 11,1776 Thomas Jefferson, John Adams, Benjamin Franklin, Roger Sherman, and Robert R. Livingston were chosen to a committee to draft the Declaration. Jefferson wrote the Declaration of Independence on June11 through June 28, 1776. During the process of the writing Jefferson sent his draft to Ben to check it over. Ben only made a few corrections. The Declaration was presented on July 4th 1776. On August 2nd, 1776 people began to sign the Declaration of independence. Fifty-six people signed including Ben. Franklin was the oldest person to sign. In 1778 Ben, an elder, played a key role at the Constitution Convention. Franklin also signed the Constitution. Ben was too ill to read his speech for the Constitution himself so he had another delegate read it. Though Ben disagreed with parts of the constitution he said, “I agree to this Constitution with all its faults”. After statement, everyone signed the Constitution.

Major constibutions of Benjamin Franklin
As an infant and as an adult Benjamin Franklin was an inventor. Benjamin Franklin invented a large number of inventions that we use in our everyday lives.
When Franklin was an infant he designed something like swimming fins so that he could swim faster. Ben also invented something like water skiing and paragliding put together when he was an infant. He lay in the water held the stick of the kite and then let the wind pull him around. In 1752 Franklin and his son William put a key on a kite string and when they felt lightning strike the kite he when to his lab and found out that electricity is in the atmosphere. Another invention that he created was the odometer in 1762. The odometer could help deliver mail faster. One day Franklin thought about the damages that lightning was doing to houses and ships so he invented a “Lightning Rod” which makes the lightning not damage the houses. In 1744 Franklin improved fireplaces by letting the metal soak the wood and warm the room even after the fire was out. On May 9, 1754 the first cartoon “Join or Die” was created by Franklin and published. In 1758 Franklin and John Hadley figured out the principles of refrigeration. Then in 1761 Franklin made something called an Armonica, which is like a piano.
During his whole life Benjamin Franklin was an extraordinary inventor. Benjamin Franklin never letting anything go without questioning its source.

Benjamin Franklin was born in Boston, Massachusetts, on January 17, 1706. His father’s name was Josiah and mother’s name was Abiah. Benjamin was the youngest boy out of seventeen children.
Benjamin’s father, Josiah, was a Candler. He did not make so much money with that job though. Benjamin’s father sent him to Boston Latin School but after one year took him out. Benjamin Franklin also went to a regular school that taught him how to write and to do math. Again his father took him out after one year. For the next few years Benjamin Franklin worked for his brother, James, in his printing shop . At the age of sixteen Benjamin Franklin wrote a new newspaper called “New England Courant”. No one new that he was writing it because he used pen names. One of the pen names that he used was “Mrs. Silence Dogood”. When Benjamin was seventeen he ran away from home to go to New York. He wanted to go to New York to work in the only printing shop in New York owned by William Bradford. William Bradford told him to go to Philadelphia. Franklin went to Philadelphia; his favorite part of Philadelphia was living near the Quakers because they welcomed all religions. IntroductionMy mother told my father that he had to take me with him on his next voyage because I was fighting with everyone too much. My father is a colonist. He goes to places in the new world and then he comes home to see us. My father agreed to take me, but I really didn’t want to leave my neighborhood. Coming to Jamestown is really hard for me because I have a great life. I am living with my family. I have a colossal family. I have two parents, my mother and my father. I have seven sisters and eight brothers. We live in a small cabin that just fits us. Our house has two bedrooms, one bathroom, and one kitchen. We also have enjoyable neighbors they treat us just like their family. I am supposed to get married to our neighbor’s daughter, Saraga but everyone calls her Sarah. She is stunning and I really don’t want to leave her.
Rodney’s Experiences in Jamestown
Conditions are terrible in Jamestown. What are we going to do? We came here with so much excitement, and so much hope. We sailed here on a grand ship, thinking it was going to be marvelous to live in Jamestown. However, things didn’t turn out the way we had planned.
During the first year we barley survived. Throughout the summer many of the colonists contracted terrible diseases. Several died including my own father. He only lived for a couple of days after developing a high fever. The day when he died was the hardest day for me in Jamestown. I was so sad that I couldn’t even cry. Since my father died I lived with Scotto and Monroe in their tents.
Hunger was another terrible problem in our colony. Most of the colonists were not skilled farmers. They didn’t like to work the only wanted to spend their time looking for gold. Our food stores quickly ran out. In 1609 John Smith came from England to lead the colony. He drew up tough rules and the most important one was “He who works not, eats not”. Since that was a rule, Scotto, Monroe, and I all had to work so that we could eat.
Under John Smiths firm leadership our living conditions improved. We planted crops, cut timber, and built new buildings. Everyone was so happy, especially Scotto. He adored John Smith more than anyone in the world. Monroe and I were just happy that we had someone to help us.
In 1609 John Smith returned to England because he was injured in an explosion. Conditions worsened when John Smith left. The Native Americans wouldn’t supply us with any food. My friends and I were so hungry. All of us felt scared that we might not stay alive. At night I would lie awake in bed and say to my self “will I every make”. The thought of dieing made me cry at night. Scotto’s father was in bed sick. I was very frightened that his father was going to pass away. We didn’t have enough food to spare and didn’t have any medicine to give him. Later that year he passed away. Monroe and I felt so bad for Scotto he was crying every night before he went to sleep. We didn’t give up. New colonists continued to join our colony. New leaders came to help us. For work we started to plant tobacco, a crop native to the Americas. We thought that it was pretty fun to grow tobacco. It was fun because we did all the work without any parents to help us, which made us feel grownup. People in Europe loved smoking tobacco and bought all the tobacco we could grow. Soon Monroe, Scotto, and I had a lot of success.
